Install VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html (this is needed for ffmpeg)

Start > Computer > open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Edit the file with Notepad. Enter the following into the file:

<pre>subsonic.org localhost</pre>

Load your Internet Browser, go to http://www.subsonic.org/pages/download.jsp and get the "Windows installer" and install the program.

After the install, go to your Internet Browser and go to localhost:4040 and log in with:

Username: admin<br>
Password: admin

Change your log in password and set the directory to scan for media (video or music), then click save. Then click "Scan media folders now".

Go to Donate in the top right, scroll to the bottom and enter any email address, put the email address into http://www.md5hashgenerator.com/index.php and get the result, and put this into the License field and then OK.

Ensure the Windows Firewall has nothing other than the default settings in it. Then in your browser go to ipaddress:4040 and log in.
